About the Program
Internal medicine nursing PhD program was initiated 2018 Fall Semester. The program consists of seven course (total 21 hours), a seminar, PhD qualifying exam, a thesis proposal, and a thesis (total 240 ECTS). The normal duration of this program is 8 semesters and the maximum duration is 12 semesters.
Students enrolled in PhD programs must fulfill at least one of the following requirements before the thesis defense exam to graduate.
1. Two papers presented at national or international scientific meetings,
2. An article published in the refereed / indexed journal, accepted for publication or a DOI number,
3. Two papers presented at the symposiums to be organized by IZU in Social / Science areas.Program Objectives & Goals
Objectives
- To be able to develop knowledge and ability to apply nursing theories
- To be able to create new information by integrating the information in the field of internal medicine nursing with information from different disciplines
- To be able to formulate a problem in the field of internal medicine nursing independently, to develop a solution method, to be able to solve the results, to be able to evaluate the results
- To be able to critically evaluate information related to internal medicine nursing, to direct learning and to carry out advanced studies independently
- To be able to share these values by considering social, scientific and ethical values in the stages of collection, interpretation and announcement of data related to internal medicine nursing.
- To be able to apply the knowledge and problem solving skills in interdisciplinary studies in internal medicine nursing.

Admission Requirements
-Hemşirelik Fakültesi, Hemşirelik Yüksekokulu ve Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi, Sağlık Yüksekokullarının Hemşirelik bölümlerinden mezun olup, Hemşirelikte Yüksek Lisans derecesine sahip olmak,
-Lisansını Hemşirelik Fakültesi, Hemşirelik Yüksekokulu, Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi ve Sağlık Yüksekokullarının Hemşirelik bölümünden mezun olup; Sağlık Yönetimi, Sağlık Kurumları İşletmeciliği ve Yönetimi, Sağlık Kurumları Yönetimi, Hastane ve Sağlık Kurumları Yönetimi alanlarında Yüksek Lisans Programını tamamlamış adaylara bilimsel hazırlık programı uygulanır.
-ALES'ten (SAY-puan türünden) en az 55 puan almak
-YDS veya YÖKDİL'den en az 55 puan veya ÖSYM tarafından eşdeğerliği kabul edilen yabancı dil sınavlarından bu puan muadili bir puan almak
Tezsiz Yüksek Lisans Programı mezunları doktora programına başvuru yapamaz. Ancak 06/02/2013 tarihinden önce tezsiz yüksek lisans programlarına kayıtlı olan veya mezun olan öğrenciler doktora programına başvurabilir.
Graduation Requirements
To obtain a doctoral degree; Students must complete the courses successfully, have a weighted grade point average of 3.00, be successful in the thesis exam and submit at least two completed thesis to the Institute within the first month following the successful completion of the thesis exam.
Recognition of Prior Learning
The provisions of the Postgraduate Education and Training Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated April 20, 2016 and numbered 29690 by the Presidency of the Higher Education Institution are applied
Employment Opportunities
They work as clinical officer / manager nurse in Ministry of Health, University and Private hospitals. They can work as an academician Nursing of Health Sciences Faculties or Schools of Nursing, and in the nursing and midwifery departments of Health Schools.
