Purpose
The purpose of the Center is to conduct scientific research and publications on the accumulated knowledge, institutions and structures in the social, cultural, economic, financial, political, religious and other fields throughout the historical process of Istanbul—the capital of ancient civilizations and one of the most important legacies of world culture—from the day it was founded to the present, as well as on the future of the city. Its aims also include establishing communication and cooperation among individuals and institutions working in this field within and outside the University, and organizing national and international academic events.
Areas of Activity of the Center
In line with the stated aims, the Center carries out the following activities:
a. Supporting research activities related to Istanbul.
b. Organizing panels, conferences, symposia, congresses and similar events related to the field.
c. Conducting training activities and producing academic publications related to the field.
ç. Cooperating with institutions and organizations working in the field at national and international level.
d. Participating in other activities within the framework of the Center's aims.
