Welcome to the İZÜ Faculty of Law!

The main aim of the Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Faculty of Law is to train lawyers with well-developed legal thinking and reasoning skills, a strong sense of justice and an awareness of social responsibility. We believe that legal education is not merely about conveying knowledge of legislation; it requires building a mind that can correctly read people, society and a changing world.

With this understanding, while giving our students an in-depth grasp of national law, we aim to provide them with a perspective that recognizes international legal systems, thinks comparatively and produces solutions to global issues. With our expert and dynamic academic staff, we offer a learning environment that supports theoretical knowledge with practice and encourages research, inquiry and critical thinking.

In line with our university's vision “From a Noble Past to a Bright Future”, our Faculty cares about bringing its students together with our deep-rooted legal tradition. For this reason, we regard knowing the historical sources of our legal culture, learning source languages such as Ottoman Turkish and Arabic, and an awareness of moral responsibility as integral elements of legal education.

In today's world, law is intertwined with many fields such as technology, economics, health, the environment and human rights. For this reason, we continuously update our curriculum according to the needs of the age and support our students in becoming well-equipped, versatile and solution-oriented individuals in new areas of law. We also attach importance to Professional English/Legal English courses so that our students can follow the global legal literature and develop their international professional communication skills, and we aim to strengthen their professional identity through scientific studies, social responsibility activities and practice-oriented events.

Our priority is for our students to grow not only academically successful but also strong in conscience, a sense of trust, fairness and professional ethics. We will continue, sincerely and resolutely, to guide them at every stage so that they gain the self-confidence to take on responsibility in courts, public institutions, the private sector, academia and civil society.
