BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION - DOCTORATE

About the Program

It consists of seven courses, seminar, proficiency exam, thesis proposal and dissertation study. (240 ECTS total) The normal duration of this program is 8 semesters and the maximum duration is 12 semesters.

a.In order for a student who is enrolled in a doctoral program to graduate, at least one of the following conditions must be fulfilled.

  1. Two papers presented at national or international scientific meetings,
  2. An article published in a peer-reviewed/ indexed journal, accepted for publication, or received a DOI number,
  3. Two papers presented at Social / Science symposiums organized by IZU.
Program Objectives & Goals

Objectives

  1. To raise individuals who has information and skills that may can contribute scientific development and competent in research, problem solution and analyzing
  2. To develop skills that are directed towards producing scientific studies in the field of business administration, sharing what are produced, fulfilling the societal and professional responsibilities, developing and applying projects.
  3. To develop human resources equipped with expertise in business, entrepreneurship and managerial knowledge and skills that are appropriate for the local, national and international levels of business life.
  4. By providing both theoretical and analytical education, the students who will be studying for doctorate are aiming to be successful researchers in their academic and business world.
  5. To educate and raise graduates who can add more to their knowledge and skills that they acquired in the field of management with a lifelong learning attitude by following the improvements and changes around them
  6. Raise leaders with advanced leadership skills, who can lead the employees in their teams effectively, can be a team player and can manage inter personal relationships and conflicts
Program Learning Outcomes

KNOWLEDGE

  1. He will be able to apply and adapt basic knowledge about other disciplines (economics, sociology, psychology, digital sciences etc.) that form the basis of business management and make creative evaluations by using this information in the field of business administration.
  2. He will have basic knowledge in the field of business functions and management (management, production, marketing, accounting, finance, HRM, behavior, etc.) and will be able to critique, interpret and adapt the theoretical discussions on the relationship between actors and cultures in this field.
  3. He will be able to apply mathematics, science and social knowledge to business problems, analyze and synthesize.
  4. Be able to identify, adapt, analyze and combine the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills gained in the field of business in research, practice and field analysis; it will be able to make critical decisions and reach the synthesis. (analytic skills).

  2. A process related to business functions in the direction of a defined target will be able to design, create and evaluate at every stage.

Degree and Level Awarded

Doctorate degree is given to students who successfully complete the program.

Admission Requirements

- To have master degree with thesis,

- Scientific preparation program is applied to candidates coming from outside the field,

- Get at least 55 points from ALES (only of the EA point types) ,

- Get a score of at least 55 from YDS or YÖKDİL or an equivalent score from foreign language exams accepted as equivalent by ÖSYM,

Graduates of the Master without Thesis Program cannot apply to the doctorate program. However, students enrolled or graduated from non-thesis master's programs before 06/02/2013 can apply to the doctorate program.

The courses of this program are given at the Halkalı campus of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.

Graduation Requirements

It consists of 7 Lessons (21 Hours), a seminar, proficiency exam, thesis proposal and thesis work. (Total 240 ECTS and 3.00 and above average ) The normal duration of completing this program is 8 semesters and the maximum duration is 12 semesters.

Students enrolled in doctoral programs must fulfill at least one of the following conditions before the thesis defense exam in order to graduate.

  1. Two papers presented at national or international scientific meetings,
  2. An article published in a refereed / indexed journal, accepted for publication or with a DOI number,
  3. Two papers presented at the symposiums organized by IZU in the fields of Social / Science.
  • The publication should be about the subject of the student's thesis or a subject related to the department.
  • In publications, the approval of the thesis supervisor must be obtained.
  • Publications must have the name of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.
Recognition of Prior Learning

 In doctoral programs, with the recommendation of the head of the department and the approval of the institute board of directors, a maximum of two courses for students who have been admitted with a master's degree and a maximum of four courses for students who have been accepted with a bachelor's degree can be selected from the courses offered in other higher education institutions.

 Undergraduate courses are not counted towards course load and doctoral credits.

Employment Opportunities

Students who graduate from the program have wide opportunities in terms of job opportunities in the public and private sectors and have the opportunity to work at senior levels. Graduates can work in management, expertise and other positions such as management, human resources management, marketing, production, accounting, finance in organizations in the public and private sectors, real and financial sectors, as well as gain entrepreneurship by establishing their own businesses. In addition, graduates can continue their career academically after their doctorate education.

Access to Further Studies

 Students who successfully complete the doctorate of business administration program can apply for post-doctoral programs.
