Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Food and Agriculture Research and Application Center is a research center established at the university level to support work carried out in the field of food and agriculture in our country.
The main purpose of the Center is to conduct scientific research in the fields of food and agriculture, to develop cooperation between the university and industry on these subjects, to produce scientific and applied solutions to problems in the sector, and to coordinate these activities.
The priority areas of activity of the Food and Agriculture Research and Application Center are to plan scientific and technological research that will contribute to Turkey’s agricultural development, to prepare the necessary facilities and put applications into practice accordingly, to organize and conduct theoretical and applied training programmes, to develop publication and information activities, and to support the university's scientific research and studies. The Center's areas of activity also include conducting research and applications in areas needed by industry and other institutions and organizations, carrying out studies on the socio-economic and political transformation of the region, and developing projects on food and agriculture concerning the province of Istanbul and the Marmara Region.
In line with its aims and activities, our University's Food and Agriculture Research and Application Center first established research and project groups within the center; the activities of these groups were planned and regularly supervised.
In addition, the center carries out activities for stakeholders in universities, public institutions and related sectors. These activities include seminars, technical visits, R&D cooperation meetings and workshops.

ELVAN Gıda R&D Center Technical Visit (30 May 2024)
Within the scope of the activities of the Food and Agriculture Research and Application Center (GTAUM), a technical visit was organized on 30 May 2024, giving around 30 of our university students the opportunity to visit the ELVAN Gıda R&D Center. During this visit, a talk was first held in which the specialists working at the company shared their production and R&D processes with our students. A tour of the facility was then conducted, broadening our students' knowledge and experience in this field.
