The System Applied in the Preparatory Programme

(1) The foreign language preparatory programme applies a module system consisting of four different levels aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR): A1 (Beginner), A2 (Elementary), B1 (Intermediate) and B2 (Upper-Intermediate).

(2) In language education, the modular system is a teaching model structured so as to divide students' language skills into specific levels (modules) and to allow them to progress to the next level as they successfully complete each level (module)

(3) According to the academic calendar, the foreign language preparatory programme is delivered as four modules in one academic year. Each module is scheduled as 8 weeks of classes and quizzes. The end-of-module examination is held in the first three days of the 9th week.

(4) In the foreign language preparatory class, each module consists of 24 class hours per week, together with assignments, portfolio work and examinations. This programme uses the book series and supplementary materials determined at the beginning of the academic year by the relevant foreign language Preparatory Unit Coordinator's Office.

(5) The end-of-module and proficiency examination dates are announced in the academic calendar at the beginning of the academic year.

(6) Midterm examination dates are announced at the beginning of each module.
