Of İZÜ's total campus area of 632 decares, 500,000 square metres consists of green space. Students enjoy both learning and socialising on the İZÜ Campus, home to 10,000 trees, including century-old olive and plane trees. With its walking paths, picnic areas and cycling tracks, the İZÜ Campus promises a study life intertwined with nature. The spirit of the foundation is the most important part of İZÜ culture. Seasonal fruits harvested from the orchards on the İZÜ Campus are offered to students in baskets along the walking paths. The green campus of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University has also been certified by international rating organisations. Having ranked among the top 500 in the International Green University Index Platform (UI GreenMetric) since 2019, İZÜ rose to 311th place worldwide in 2024.
Horizontal Architecture, a Lush Green Campus
Starting from the premise that higher education does not consist solely of classes, academic studies and laboratories, İZÜ also offers social opportunities at the highest level. The university's social, sporting and cultural facilities and its horizontal architecture, which devotes ample space to nature, invite students to an unforgettable campus life. The teaching buildings, arranged in blocks of two or three storeys, are complemented by the spacious library and the mosque located at the heart of the campus.
