Halal Food Center: A First in Turkey
At İZÜ, where studies on "Halal Food" are also conducted, research and applications on accreditation and certification are carried out at the Sabri Ülker Food and Nutrition R&D Center within the scope of the Food Engineering department's work. The Halal Food R&D Center holds the distinction of being a first among universities in Turkey. At the center, GMO products, industrial production methods, and artificial additives that threaten human health are researched and examined to determine whether they are halal and healthy. Tests are conducted on food products offered to consumers, and conformity certificates are issued. Students have the opportunity to become pioneers in the industry in this vital field, whose importance is steadily growing worldwide.
