About the Program
It consists of ten courses (3 hours per week) and master's project work (Total 90 ECTS). The normal duration of this program is 2 semesters, the maximum duration is 3 semesters.
Program Objectives & Goals
Objectives
- To train experts who have analytics about the subjects and problems of knowledge in the field of history and civilization.
- To raise qualified people who are capable of original research on current issues and problems related to the field of history and civilization.
- To bring in experts who have absorbed the values of their own history and civilization, who are sensitive to the problems of their civilization and who can take responsibility.
- To ensure students being equipped to investigate their historical background and values of civilization based on scientific principles.

Degree and Level Awarded
Students who complete the requirements of the program receive a master's degree without thesis.
Admission Requirements
-Bachelor's degree,
-ALES and foreign language points are not required,
- International / foreign candidates are required to obtain a TÖMER C1 certificate from the Turkish Education Centers of the universities since the program's language is Turkish.
-The weekday lessons of this program are given at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Halkalı campus. In case of sufficient number of applications, courses can also be given at Altunizade campus.
Graduation Requirements
It consists of ten courses of thirty hours and graduate project work. (Total 90 ECTS) The normal duration of completing this program is 2 semesters and the maximum duration is 3 semesters.
Students who successfully complete their credit courses and term project and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 and above are awarded a master's degree without thesis.
Recognition of Prior Learning
The undergraduates who meet the requirements for application to the History and Civilization Studies Masters Program Without Thesis and who are successful in the entrance exam to the program are accepted to the program. Upon the recommendation of the exam jury and the approval of the head of the department, they enroll in the Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Graduate Education Institute, Department of History and Civilization Studies, Masters Program Without Thesis Education Program.
Employment Opportunities
Those who have scientific expertise in the field of History and Civilization Studies can work with the title of historian in public institutions and organizations such as universities, Presidency State Archives, Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Directorate of Religious Affairs, Museums and development agencies.
