Course Objective

Giving information about the palace, center, state, army and scientific organization in the Ottomans. Explaining the Ottoman legal system. Examining the social, cultural and scientific developments.

Course Content

 
In the History of Ottoman Civilization course, the emergence, development and functioning of Ottoman institutions and the causes and consequences of the deterioration in institutions will be focused on. During the process, the efforts of transition from classical period institutions to new ones from the early 17th century and their effects will be emphasized. The most important goal of the course is to provide students with realistic information about Ottoman Civilization based on cause-effect relationships.

 

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Generally, they will be able to summarize the elements that made up the Ottoman civilization.
  2. Will be able to express the elements of the Ottoman civilization, the establishments and its development.
  3. They will be able to make comments on the subject by using the theoretical knowledge they have received in the course in their research.
