ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT - NON THESIS

About the Program

Engineering Management is about acquiring the necessary skills to organize, plan, manage and control the people involved in the design, manufacture, construction, operation, or maintenance of a product, device, structure, or machine to achieve desired objectives.

It consists of 10 courses of 30 hours and a master's project (total 90 ECTS). The minimum number of credits required to graduate from the non-thesis master's program is 30. Except for the Master's Project course, each compulsory and elective course is three credits. The student must complete at least 4 compulsory courses of 12 credits and six elective courses of at least 18 credits to complete the program. The successful completion of 30 credits and a non-credit master's project course is required to complete the program. Elective courses excluding at least 12 credits of compulsory courses can be selected from the elective courses offered during the semester.

Objectives

  1. It is to gain knowledge, skills, and competencies for design, analysis, planning, process improvement, and control techniques with a system perspective for the solution of engineering problems in the production and service sectors to university graduates with at least a bachelor's degree (engineering faculty and other related departments graduates).
  2. It is a training program that takes into account the environment, quality, and ethical values and aims to teach the necessary approaches and methods for the design, production, management, and continuous improvement of systems based on human, machine, money, time, information, and energy in order for organizations to achieve their ultimate goals.

In the admission of students to the non-thesis master's program; ALES and language scores are not required. The undergraduate weighted grade point averages and science evaluation exam results of the candidates applying to the program are taken into consideration. In the evaluation to be made for admission, candidates are ranked according to their overall success grade. General success grade; It consists of the sum of 50% of the undergraduate weighted grade point average and 50% of the grade received in the science evaluation exam. The principles regarding this evaluation and the other conditions that the candidates must meet for the application are determined by the institute board upon the recommendation of the head of the department. However, the institute can accept students to non-thesis master's programs by evaluating only the undergraduate weighted grade point average.

-The courses of this program are given at the Halkalı campus of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.

Graduation Requirements

The non-thesis master's program consists of 10 30-hour courses and a master's project (total 90 ECTS). The minimum number of credits required to graduate from the non-thesis master's program is 30. Except for the Master's Project course, each compulsory and elective course is three credits. To complete the program, the student must complete at least 4 compulsory courses of 12 credits and six elective courses of at least 18 credits. Recognition of Prior Learning

 A student who has completed at least one semester in a graduate program at the university or another higher education institution can be admitted to the University's graduate programs through undergraduate transfer within the framework of the relevant legislation and the principles determined by the institute board of directors.

 The principles regarding the transfer between thesis and non-thesis graduate programs are determined by the institute board of directors.

Employment Opportunities

Engineering Management graduates have many job opportunities in both the public and private sectors. Graduates in the public and private sector; can work in management, expertise, and other positions in fields such as management, human resources management, marketing, production, accounting, finance in organizations in the engineering fields, real and financial sectors, as well as gaining entrepreneurial qualifications by establishing their own businesses.
