Course Objective

To learn the historical development and characteristics of Turkish and Islamic art, to recognize the richness of art brought to the market in the world of Turkish and Islam, especially architectural works

Course Content

Definition and types of art, art and characteristics of Islam, historical development of Islamic architecture, constructions and characteristics of Islamic architecture; mosques, educational buildings (medreseler) and Islamic Calligraphy.

Explanations

The History of Islamic Arts course is a very important course for students of Islamic Sciences to have information about general Islamic culture, art and civilization and to use this information in their later lives. Regardless of which branch of Islamic sciences they specialize in, they can read and research the information given in this lesson more widely, and add them to the basic knowledge they can use when necessary, so that they can have their feet on the ground in both belief, culture and art.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. students learn the main Islamic art work in history and what was the purpose in constucting them
  2. students know the formation and styles process of Islami arts
  3. students learn the formation process of architectural works
  4. Students also knows merit of artistic works and how to protect them
  5. Students learn the main features of Turkish-Islamic art
