Course Content

Throughout history, religion has been one of the most effective elements in the emergence of many orientations, both individual and social. As a motivational element, religion has unique mechanisms in the development of emotions, thoughts and attitudes in humans, and in the emergence of permanent and regular behaviors. At this point where religion and psychology intersect, the psychology of religion comes to the fore. Psychology of religion is a branch of science that examines the effects of believing or not believing in a certain religion on an individual from a psychological perspective. The person who attends this course gains information about the historical adventure of the relationship between psychology and religion. By knowing the approach to humans in the Islamic tradition, he makes a comparison with the approach of other traditions. Since he sees that the effects of faith on an individual differ according to their developmental periods, he takes these characteristics into consideration in his approach to the people around him. He evaluates the interaction between religion and culture from a psychological perspective. He realizes the appearances of religiosity and spirituality in different cultures.
