Course Objective
The purpose of this course is to ensure that students master the information about health insurance in a systematic framework.
Course Content
The role and importance of the state in health services, the place of health insurance in the social security and health system, payment methods, definition and types of public-private health insurance, analysis and evaluation of health insurance in the world and in Turkey, risk factors and management in health insurance, analysis and evaluation of reimbursement methods used in health services.

Course Learning Outcomes
- Students will have information about the basic concepts of the social security system, will be able to explain the place of health insurance in the health system.
- Will be able to express the relationship between health expenditures, health financing and insurance,
- Will have information about the effects of health insurance on supply and demand and will be able to suggest solutions.
- Will have information about payment methods, advantages and disadvantages in health insurance.
- Will have information about health insurance and its development in the world and in Turkey
- Gain the competence to carry out work and transactions regarding Diagnosis-Related Groups (DDI) and disease classifications
- Able to work as a team and lead in the areas of his/her field of expertise.
- Will have basic knowledge about General Health Insurance application
