Course notes
Course Learning Outcomes
- It identifies appropriate sampling methods for the research problem and evaluates the impact of sampling bias on research results.
- It explains the basic statistical concepts, data types, and measurement levels used in psychological counseling research.
- It summarizes and interprets RPD data using appropriate graphical and descriptive statistical methods.
- It explains the concepts of sampling variability, standard error, estimation, and confidence interval, and interprets them within the context of research findings.
- It explains the logic behind hypothesis testing; it evaluates p-value, confidence interval, Type I and Type II errors, and effect size together.
- The researcher selects, applies, and interprets the results of appropriate t-tests, ANOVA, correlation, and simple linear regression methods based on the research question and data structure.
- It evaluates basic statistical assumptions; identifies appropriate nonparametric alternatives when necessary; and interprets key reliability outcomes in scale data.
- It analyzes real psychological counseling data using appropriate statistical software and reports the findings in a critical, ethical, scientific, and professional manner.
