Islamic Sciences (30% Arabic)

Having started admitting students in the 2013-2014 academic year, the İZÜ Faculty of Islamic Sciences offers an undergraduate programme taught 30 per cent in Arabic. Our Faculty aims to train qualified, well-equipped and multilingual theologians by combining the Islamic scholarly tradition with contemporary academic methods. In this direction, while giving its students the classical body of scholarly knowledge, it aims to give them the ability to approach current religious and social issues from a critical and constructive perspective. The period of study is four years following a one-year compulsory Arabic preparatory class. Preparatory education, reinforced by supporting programmes organized in Turkey and abroad, is delivered by expert Turkish and international teaching staff. Students of our Faculty are also entitled to study a second foreign language within our university.

Our students can take part in Double Major and Minor Programmes, and students studying at other faculties can also join the Faculty of Islamic Sciences programme. In addition, under international exchange programmes, our students are offered the opportunity to study abroad for one or two semesters. Our Faculty also operates in line with the decisions of the university senate and relevant boards regarding the admission of international students.
