Architecture
The Department of Architecture at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University began its undergraduate programme in 2012 and graduated its first students in 2016. In the same year, alongside the thesis-based Master's and Doctoral Programmes in Architecture, the Master's Programme in Urban Studies and Management and the Doctoral Programme in Urban Planning and Urban Transformation were opened under the Department of Architecture, further strengthening its academic structure at graduate level. The department aims to train architects who are attentive to scientific and professional developments in the field of architecture, who can understand and interpret research at both national and international level, and who are competent to contribute to the field. To this end, the department has adopted a programme that brings together theoretical knowledge and practice in architectural education, with the goal of training creative, ethical individuals with leadership qualities who are open to interdisciplinary collaboration and able to adapt to the dynamics of the age in the fields of architectural theory, design, technology and culture.
The department's vision is to build a continuously developing academic structure, recognised at both national and international level, that trains qualified and sought-after graduates capable of contributing to social development in the core field of architecture. The internship, professional practice and part-time work opportunities offered to students during their studies help them become better prepared for the sector after graduation. Our graduates have a wide range of employment opportunities, including private architectural offices, public institutions and municipalities. The department's mission is not only to equip students with professional competence, but also to train individuals equipped with a sense of professional ethics, social responsibility and continuous learning.
