

The Special Education Teaching Undergraduate Programme within the Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Faculty of Education aims to train well-equipped teachers who will work in the education of individuals with special needs. Within the programme, students are offered the opportunity to take elective courses in the areas of Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Giftedness, Hearing Impairment and Visual Impairment. In this way, students have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and skills in various areas of special education. The programme lasts eight semesters.
Graduates of the İZÜ Special Education Teaching Programme can work as teachers in public or private educational institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, Guidance and Research Centres (RAM) and rehabilitation centres. Graduates also have the opportunity to specialize in academia and advance their careers by continuing with graduate education.
