The Importance of Organ Donation Discussed at İZÜ
The "Organ Donation Seminar," organized by the Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, was held in Seminar Room 2. The event was attended by the Faculty Dean, Prof. Dr. Ayşe Nefise Bahçecik, and representatives from the Ministry of Health's Istanbul Mehmet Akif Ersoy Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital, who provided attendees with comprehensive information.
In her opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zülfünaz Özer emphasized the life-saving role of organ donation and the need to increase public awareness on the matter. Özer stated, "Organ donation is one of the most sacred ways for a person who has passed away to give life to another. One person's decision can change dozens of lives and rekindle hope."
Organ Transplant Coordinators from Mehmet Akif Ersoy Hospital, Specialist Nurse Gamze Ataman Yıldız and Nurse Sıdık Biricik, shared insights on organ donation and transplantation processes. Yıldız explained the legal aspects of organ donation, the transplantation process, requirements for donation, brain death, and donor care. She highlighted that Turkey is a global leader, particularly in live donor donations.
As part of the event, a booth set up by the Ministry of Health allowed university students to fill out forms to become organ donors.

Professor Doctor Monzer Kahf Organized Conferences In IZU
In the field of Islamic economics, one of the contemporary pioneers of banking and finance Professor Doctor Monzer Kahf visited Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University International Islamic Economy and Finance Research and Application Center on January 3 and January 5, 2018. IZU Islamic Sciences Faculty Deputy Dean Assoc. Abdülmuttalip Arpa participated in the 1st International Conference on the Development of Educational Facilities held in Putrajaya, Malaysia on January 19-20, by the International Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (IIESCO).
Visiting IZU From Gaza Islamic University
Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Vice Rector Professor Doctor Arif Ersoy welcomed the delegation of Gaza Islamic University. The visit took place on İZÜ Halkalı Campus on 6th February 2018. President of the Board of Trustees of Gaza Islamic University Prof. Dr. Nasereddin Almuzaini, Former Rector Kamalayas Shaath, Turkey Representative Mon Naim and Raif Alshorafa joined to visit.
