Core Duties

Help Desk

Provides support on the following matters.

  • On-site and remote support for university computers, printers, IP telephones and mobile devices
  • Operating system installation and updates
  • Diagnosis of software and hardware faults
  • Carrying out physical maintenance of computers
  • Resolving and recording requests and fault reports received from end users

Network and Systems Team

  • Ensures the continuity of network and system resources.
    Carries out installation, configuration, management, maintenance and support operations on the following matters.
  • Internet infrastructure
  • Wired and wireless network devices, connections and security
  • Server hardware, operating systems and applications
  • Data storage media
  • Backup

Development

  • Works on the following matters.
  • Management and development of institutional applications, automation systems and databases
  • Control and follow-up of business analysis, code analysis and deployment tasks
  • Coding, optimisation and refactoring work within the development unit
  • Performance improvement work

Our Services

System Administration: Ensuring the maintenance, operation and management of all servers, operating systems and the network structure at our University, and ensuring the uninterrupted provision of services such as e-mail and internet access.

Communication / Network Services: Establishing, operating and managing our University's communication infrastructure (electronic network structure) and resolving problems. Preparing the infrastructure for new projects.

WEB Services: Developing and maintaining some of the web-based software and designs needed within our University, above all our websites.

Educational Technology Services: Ensuring the maintenance, management and development of the educational technologies provided to students and academics at our University.

System Support Services: Provides support with its own staff for all computers and peripherals used within our University. Providing computer software and usage support to the University's Academic and Administrative Units, and ensuring the installation of newly added peripherals.
