Who Can Apply for Erasmus+ Student Study Mobility with Partner Countries?

Full-time students enrolled in the Islamic Economics and Finance Master's and International Finance and Participation Banking programmes of the Institute of Social Sciences.

How to Apply

Application

Applications will be accepted online only. No documents will be submitted to the Erasmus Office. Applications of students who do not upload an electronically signed transcript will be rejected. Wet-signed transcripts will under no circumstances be accepted.

Pre-applications are received through the Erasmus+ Online Application System. (http://applyerasmus.izu.edu.tr)

If you are applying for the first time, the student e-mail address must be verified by clicking the "Register & Apply" section.

If you have applied before, you can access the application form by logging in to the application system with your student e-mail address and password.,

During the application, notifications to the student are sent to the e-mail address used to log in to the system.

Documents Required for Application

  • Online Application Form
  • Documents certifying that the applicant is a relative of a martyr or veteran, has a disability, or is subject to a protection, care or shelter decision under Social Services Law No. 2828 must be uploaded to the online application system, if available. (The originals of these documents must subsequently be presented to the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office.)
  • During the application, the student must upload an Electronically Signed transcript obtained from the Directorate of Student Affairs showing their cumulative grade point average at the time of application.

Points to Note When Applying

 

1-Please contact the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office regarding any problems that may arise during the application. (For contact, an e-mail should be sent to erasmus@izu.edu.tr.)

 

2-Applications will be made online. Once the required documents have been uploaded to the application system, if your application is valid it will appear in the system as "Approved by the Office".

 

3-If you do not wish to take the Erasmus+ English Language Proficiency Exam organised by the Foreign Languages Coordination Office, the option "I do not want to take the University Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam" must be selected in the application.

Students who do not wish to take the Language Exam;

• If a Language Exam Result Certificate is available (the result documents of the TOEFL-IBT, TOEFL-CBT, TOEFL-PBT, YDS, YOKDIL and IELTS exams whose equivalence is recognised by the University must be uploaded to the system. (YDS and YOK Language certificates will be evaluated subject to a five-year validity requirement. Other language proficiency certificates are valid for two years.) When uploading the relevant language certificates to the system, they must be uploaded so that the verification codes are visible. Candidates without a language exam certificate must select the option "I want to take the Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam."

• Students wishing to apply with their IZU Preparatory School Completion Grade must correctly enter their preparatory school completion grade at "B2" level into the system and upload a currently dated electronically signed transcript showing the preparatory school completion grade at "B2" level. A "C1" Preparatory School Completion grade will not be accepted.

4-A currently dated electronically signed transcript must be requested from the Student Affairs Office and uploaded to the application system as a PDF.

Minimum Requirements

In order to take part in the activity, students must first meet the following minimum requirements

  • Being a Master's student of the Graduate Education Institute in Islamic Economics and Finance (with Thesis) or International Finance and Participation Banking (with Thesis),
  • Having completed all courses in the relevant departments and being at the thesis stage for the Spring semester in which the mobility will take place.
  • Being a full-time student (having the obligation to take 30 ECTS of courses / to complete a thesis)
  • Having a cumulative academic grade point average of at least 2.50/4.00,
  • Documentation of English language proficiency at B2 level,
  • If the student has previously benefited from higher education mobility activities under Erasmus+ or the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) within the current study cycle, the total duration including the new activity must not exceed 12 months.

Selection Criteria

The evaluation criteria and weighted scores used in assessing mobility applications are as follows:

For students selected for mobility: failure, without a valid excuse, to attend the meetings/training sessions organised by the higher education institution in connection with the mobility (applied if the student applies for Erasmus again.)

*Priority is given to combat veterans and their spouses and children, as well as the spouses and children of war martyrs; the spouses and children of "public officials who, while performing their duties at home or abroad, or even after their status has ended, have been wounded, disabled, died or been killed as a result of acts of terrorism because of the performance of those duties" pursuant to Article 21 of the Anti-Terror Law No. 3713 dated 12/4/1991; and, pursuant to Article 7 of Decree Law No. 667 dated 23 July 2016, the spouses and children of those who lost their lives as a result of the coup attempt and terrorist act carried out on 15 July 2016 and the acts that followed it, as well as civilians who were disabled and their spouses and children, when they apply for Erasmus+ student mobility.

**For prioritisation, the student must present a letter from the Ministry of Family and Social Policies stating that a protection, care or shelter decision has been taken in respect of them under Law No. 2828.

***The application of "-10 points" for previous participation does not apply to mobilities carried out at a previous study cycle or to mobilities other than higher education student/traineeship mobility. It applies where a student who has already carried out a mobility applies again within the same study cycle.

Erasmus+ Mobility with Grant Option

Under the Erasmus+ Programme, selected students may receive an Erasmus+ grant to cover their living expenses during the mobility period. The Erasmus+ grant is a contribution and may not cover 100% of the expenses incurred before and during the mobility (such as visa, accommodation, flight tickets and living expenses). In such cases, the student must cover the remaining amount themselves.

Erasmus+ Mobility without Grant Option

Students may exercise this right either by selecting the "I can participate without a grant" option on the online form during the application or by notifying the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office after the results are announced. Whether selected with or without a grant, Erasmus+ students do not pay tuition, registration and examination fees or library usage fees to the university they attend.

Additional Grant Opportunity for Persons with Special Needs

Students with disabilities may receive an additional grant for their mobility according to their specific needs. For detailed information, please contact the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office.
