Frequently Asked Questions

Points to Consider When Applying

1-Please contact the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office regarding any problems that may arise during the application. (For enquiries, please send an e-mail to erasmus@izu.edu.tr.)

2-Applications will be made online. The "Documents Required for Application" and "How to Apply" pages must be read carefully. Once the required documents have been uploaded to the application system, if your application is valid it will appear in the system as "Approved by the Office".

3-If you do not wish to take the Erasmus+ English Language Proficiency Exam organised by the Foreign Languages Coordination Office, the option "I do not wish to take the University Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam" must be selected in the application.

Students who do not wish to take the Language Exam;

  • If a Language Exam Result Document is available (the result documents of the TOEFL-IBT, TOEFL-CBT, TOEFL-PBT, YDS, YÖKDİL and IELTS exams whose equivalence is accepted by the University must be uploaded to the system. (YDS and YÖKDİL documents will be assessed subject to a 5-year validity requirement. The validity period of the other exam proficiency documents is 2 years.) The relevant language documents must be uploaded so that their verification codes are visible. Candidates without a language exam document must select the option "I wish to take the Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam."
  • Students who wish to apply with their İZÜ Preparatory School Completion Grade must correctly enter their preparatory school completion grade at "B2" level in the system and upload a current, electronically signed transcript showing their preparatory school completion grade at "B2" level. A "C1" preparatory school completion grade will not be accepted.

For the conversion table of YDS, YÖKDİL, TOEFL-IBT-CBT-PBT and IELTS scores into İZÜ Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam scores, please click here.

4-A current, electronically signed Transcript must be requested from student affairs and uploaded to the application system as a PDF.

5-When making your preferences during the application, please research the university you choose carefully. Make sure that the language of instruction is English. Almost all selected students are placed at their first preference; for this reason, the university you list as your first preference should be researched thoroughly.

6-Once the application period has closed, no changes may be made to the 3 University preferences submitted, unless there is a force majeure.

7-If you also apply for Summer Term Traineeship mobility within the same application period and are selected for both mobility types, you must state by petition sent to erasmus@izu.edu.tr which mobility type you wish the -10 point deduction to be applied to.

8-The withdrawal dates for students selected as principal candidates are 31 June - 11 July 2021. Students who do not exercise their right to withdraw within these dates and withdraw on a different date will have -10 points deducted in the next application period. Students wishing to withdraw must come to the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office between 31 June - 11 July 2021 and submit a petition of withdrawal.
