WOMEN'S HEALTH AND DISEASES NURSING - THESIS

About the Program

Master's Degree Program with thesis of Women’s Health and Diseases Nursing  has been started its education in 2018 Spring  Semester. The Program consists of seven course, a seminar and a thesis (total 120 ECTS). The normal duration of this program is 4 semesters and the maximum duration is 6 semesters.

Students who complete the course phase submit a thesis proposal to the Institute before starting their thesis. After their thesis proposals are accepted by the Institute, they are entitled to start their thesis.
Program Objectives & Goals

Objectives

  1. Has current theoretical and practical knowledge specific to the field of nursing.
  2. Has the knowledge and ability to reach the scientific and current information unique to the nursing field and to evaluate the authenticity, validity and reliability of the information.
  3. Provides culturally sensitive nursing care to individual, family and society with a holistic and systematic approach by using theoretical, evidence-based and practical knowledge in the field of nursing and evaluate and record the effect of care.
  4. Uses informatics and care technologies in nursing education, practice, research and management.
  5. Respects for human rights and dignity in nursing education, practice, research and management and act in accordance with related legislation, professional values and ethical principles.
  6. Works in cooperation with members of the health team and other disciplines.
  7. Leads innovation and change by taking responsibilities in activities contributing to the development of health care and nursing profession.
  8. Leads the organizational structures and systems in ensuring and developing safe and quality care.
  9. Adopts lifelong learning approach in personal and professional development.
  10. Be a model for society and role model for colleagues with professional identity.
  11. Uses critical thinking skills and scientific problem solving approach in her/his professional practices.
  12. Uses effective communication skills in her/his professional practice

  2. To be able to use theoretical and practical information at the level of expertise gained in the field of Women s Health and Disease Nursing.
  3. To be able to create new information by integrating information in the field of Women s Health and Disease Nursing and information came from another discipline.
  4. To be able to solve problems that requires expertise by using scientific research methods.
  5. A problem in the field, to be able to build independently, to be able to develop a solution method, to be able to solve, to be able to evaluate and perform results.
  6. At the Unforeseen complex situations encountered in applications, to be able to develop new strategic approach and to be able to produce a solution by taking responsibility.
  7. To be able to critically evaluate information about Women s Health and Disease Nursing, to be able to direct learning and to be able to conduct advanced studies as an independent.

Admission Requirements
To graduate from the Nursing / Midwifery Department of the Faculty of Nursing, School of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Health.

-Get at least 55 points from ALES (any of the SAY-point types),

- The courses of this program are given at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Halkalı campus.
Graduation Requirements

On the condition of successfully completing the courses, having a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 and above and being successful in the thesis exam; The student who submits two copies of the bound thesis to the institute within one month at the latest from the date of entry to the thesis examination and whose thesis is found suitable in terms of form, is awarded a master's degree with thesis. The institute board of directors may extend the delivery period for a maximum of one month upon request. A student who does not fulfill these conditions cannot obtain his / her diploma until he / she fulfills the conditions, cannot benefit from student rights and is dismissed from the University in case the maximum period expires.

Recognition of Prior Learning

The provisions of the Postgraduate Education and Training Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated April 20, 2016 and numbered 29690 by the Presidency of the Higher Education Institution are applied

Employment Opportunities
Graduates work as specialist nurses in primary, secondary and tertiary health care institutions as responsible / nurse / manager nurse, as educators; can work in undergraduate programs that provide nursing and midwifery education
Access to Further Studies

Graduates who successfully complete the master's program can apply to doctoral programs if they meet the necessary conditions.
