About the Program
It consists of twenty-one educational training, higher education, and thesis courses. (Total 120 ECTS) The standard duration of completing this program is four semesters, and the maximum term is six semesters.
-The course presents a thesis together with the theory to the Graduate School for the completion of the preparation process. While the Graduate School accepts the thesis proposals, they are entitled to begin their thesis.

Objectives
- To train experts and academicians on theories, scientific studies and applications related to Mathematics Education.
- To examine interdisciplinary studies on mathematics education
- To provide cooperative learning with group works
- To examine the problems in the field of mathematics education and to produce solutions
- To use the knowledge of mathematics in daily life
- To have patience, determination, diligence, carefulness, self-confidence, self-regulation skills and to develop these features in learning and teaching mathematics
- To follow the literature specific to the mathematics education field
- To be able to explain and communicate their thoughts in a logical way using the language of mathematics
- To develop strategies, policies and to implement plans on mathematics education and to evaluate the results within the framework of quality processes

Degree and Level Awarded
Students who successfully complete the program are awarded with a Master's Degree (Diploma) in MATHEMATICS EDUCATION.
Admission Requirements
- To be a graduate from the Department of Mathematics, Mathematics Education undergraduate programs,
- Getting at least 65 points from ALES (EA or SAY point type)
- The lectures of this program are given at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Halkalı campus.
Graduation Requirements
The Mathematics Education Master's program consists of seven twenty-one hours of lectures, master's seminars and thesis studies (120 ECTS in total). The normal duration of completing this program is 4 semesters, the maximum duration is 6 semesters.
Students who complete the course stage will submit a thesis proposal to the Institute together with their thesis form before starting their thesis. After the thesis proposals are accepted by the Institute, they are entitled to start their thesis.
In order to graduate, students enrolled in the Master's Degree Programs must fulfill at least one of the following conditions before the thesis defense exam.:
-A paper presented at national or international scientific meetings,
-An article published in a refereed / indexed journal, accepted for publication, or obtained a DOI number,
-A paper presented at the symposiums that IZU will organize in the fields of Social / Science.
-Publications will be produced from the student's thesis.
-In publications, the approval of the thesis advisor must be obtained.
-Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University name must be in the publications.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Exemptions from courses taken at another university at graduate level can be exempted according to the decision of the commission.
Employment Opportunities
A student who has specialized in Mathematics Education with her Mathematics Education Master's Degree can apply to research assistants, work in the Ministry of National Education, and continue to work as a specialist in private institutions, if they meet the relevant requirements.
Access to Further Studies
Gains the right to apply for PhD in the field.
