Course Objective

Subjects related to field measurements, player formations and technical and tactical development for the handball branch are mastered. It also contributes to the development of the branch by applying the rules of the handball game.

Course Content

Lesson, field dimensions of the handball branch and positions of the players
Learning technical and tactical principles for the handball branch
Obtaining information about Türkiye and World handball history
Learning ball handling, dribbling, passing and shooting types in handball
Learning defensive and offensive formations in handball

Content:
Handball exercises and games adapted to individual needs
Development of basic handball skills:
Passing and receiving

Adapted Physical Education and Sports Class – Handball (Rules and Reminders)
📌 Class Attendance
Punctual attendance at handball classes is important; however, flexibility can be provided according to the individual needs of the students.
Attendance supports the student's physical (endurance, coordination), social (teamwork), and cognitive (game understanding) development. Participation in classes is expected to be done with appropriate sportswear that allows for comfortable movement and non-slip sports shoes. 👕 Clothing and Equipment Use
Handball balls can be selected in different sizes and weights according to the student's level. If necessary, adapted equipment such as:
Soft balls
Mini goals
Target boards
can be used.
All equipment must be used safely and carefully.
The playing area is arranged in a way that is accessible to the students (field size, goal dimensions, ground safety, etc.).
🤝 Class Discipline
Following the instructions given by the instructor is necessary for a safe and efficient handball class. Respectful, inclusive, and supportive behaviors should be displayed to encourage the participation of all students. In team games:

Appropriate warm-up exercises (running, stretching, ball control) suitable for handball are performed before the lesson.
The student's health status, injury, or special needs should be reported to the instructor in advance.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Can understand the basic information about handball, including field dimensions and game rules.
  2. Learns about the history and current situation of handball.
  3. Can practice basic skills such as ball handling and dribbling in handball
  4. Knows the types of passing and shooting in handball and provides attack organizations based on these skills.
  5. He knows the offensive and defensive formations in handball and can apply the skills in training and friendly matches.
