Course Objective

Development and concepts related to development, developmental tasks, physical and language development, theories of development, and mental development etc.

Course Content

The lesson contains discussing about basic concepts and principles; main character before born and after; physical, cognitive, social, emotional character of infancy, childhood, adolescence.

Rules

Attendance: Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Undergraduate Education and Training Regulation Article 21 - (1) Students at the university; Students are required to attend 70% of theoretical courses and 80% of applied courses within one semester. Each instructor checks his obligation to attend classes according to these principles.

  1. Explaining physical, cognitive and socio-emotional changes specific to developmental periods.
  2. Describing important processes, periods and topics in development.
  3. Summarizing the distinctive features of life-style perspective in development.
  4. Summarizing the distinctive features of lifelong perspective in development.
  5. Explaining the genetic basis of development and the hereditary-environment debate.
  6. Explaining basic theories of human development.
  7. Explaining how lifelong development research is done.
