Course Objective
The main objective of this course is to teach students how to prepare a master’s plan / doctoral thesis proposal in a correct scientific and methodological manner in accordance with correct academic and research standards and information learned in scientific research methodology lectures, and to train them through field practice to formulate a research proposal at the end of the semester.
The course deals with the latest studies, research, methodology, and training on how to define the research problem and choose the appropriate title and keywords, so that they reflect the nature of the study and its limits, define the study problem, its importance and the desired benefits, formulate the study objectives according to clear scientific standards in a clear and specific language, and train on formulating the study questions and their assumptions
Course Content
The main purpose of this course is to present the goals of social research and to introduce its technics to students. All social researchs aim basically collecting information to answer the questions which shape interrelations of individuals, institutions and society. Consequenty this course will provide information about the logic and processes of social research and basic technics of collecting and analysing data on an advanced level to students. By the end of this course students will be deeply informed about the technics of social research and also they will gain skills to apply their knowledge to various social problems. This course is designed for providing the main technics of social research through discussions and exercises. This course will start with the introduction to the strategies of research and then it will focus on basic designs and methods of research. Students will be required by their instructor to design and execute a project during the semester. Above all, students may use their knowledge acquired through this course on other thesis and project works.
Course Learning Outcomes
- The student understands the basics of the research plan proposal
- The student will learn research methods practically.
- Will be able to see the preparation processes of the thesis or article in practice.
- He will prepare a bibliography consisting of at least 30 sources on the subject he has chosen.
- He will have practiced thesis presentation.
