Course Objective
Literature is the most important document of a nation's unique characteristics. It is possible to learn about the lives of nations, the state they have taken in history, the change their ideas and arts have undergone from the history of literature. Every new idea and art breakthrough is closely related to the general character of the nation to which it belongs, that is, the world of civilization.
This course aims to determine the basic characteristics of Turkish literature, to evaluate the sources it feeds on, and the aesthetic understanding it is based on; It aims to recognize the social and cultural environment in which this literature develops and to understand and interpret the works that direct us.
Course Content
In the Turkish Islamic Literature courses, starting from the acceptance of Islam by the Turks to the Tanzimat Period in classical forms, and from there to the present day with various changes in the literature and the writers and poets revealing them will be examined. The Qur'an, the hadiths and the Qur'an (the stories of the Syrians and other prophets), Sufism (General Sufism, Tarikat-Tekke Literature and Menâkıb-ı Evliyâ), the sciences of the period, the local materials and Persian literature are the sources of this literature. Arabic, Persian and religious sciences, and the claims of these sciences are also among the subjects of the course.
