Course Objective

To gain information on advances in molecular food microbiology and implement the techniques learnt to specific microorganisms

Course Content

DNA, RNA and protein basics, isolation of nucleic acids and visualization using agarose gel electrophoresis, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), real time PCR and sequence analysis, molecular identification of microorganisms, typing and phylogenetics
