Course Objective

The goal of this course is to understand the concept of the smart grid, its drivers, characteristics, domains, and visions. In addition, the goal of this course helps the students to understand the ICT technologies, demand response, cybersecurity issues of the smart grid.

Course Content

In this course, Smart Grid as the use of ICT to make electricity cleaner, less costly, and more reliable will be defined. First, the smart grid concept will be explained in detail. Then as a means of enhancing the power grid, the demand response concept will be discussed. After that wide area, measurement units will be discussed. The cybersecurity and privacy issues of the smart grid will be discussed. In this course, the technical skills of software and computer engineering will be applied to solve real-world problems.
