Course Objective

Basic concepts related to forensic medicine, legal regulations, forensic medicine practices (death and forensic autopsy, physical or psychological traumas, sexual violence, domestic violence, child abuse, human rights violations, etc.), general perspective on issues, awareness of forensic medical evaluations and gain knowledge and attitudes to interpret these evaluations in professional practice.

Factors to be considered for those working in the field of tanatology, clinical forensic medicine, forensic toxicology, forensic psychiatry, law
 

Required Resources

Lecture notes will be shared with students, and further reading resources for each presentation will be suggested.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. To be able to define the experts and institutions working in the field of forensic medicine / sciences
  2. Describes the limitations of physicians and medical science for whom a scientific opinion is sought
