Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to determine the effect of Roman Law on current law and then to teach the fundamental notions of basic rules of current law.

Course Content

The course covers the history of Roman Law and basic concepts of right, law (ius), action (actio), capacity, guardianship and tutorship, legal event, invalidity of legal transactions and legal capacity.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Student learn the concept of capacity to have rights and obligations and acquire the knowledge of who has the capacity in Roman Law and current law.
  2. Students identify the concepts of right, law and action.
  3. Students learn about the history and sources of Roman Law.
  4. Students learn and compare the rights in Roman Law and current law in terms of their content and characteristics.
