Course Objective
This course elaborates fundaments of various religious beliefs in the world, their emergence and transformation within the historical process, their interactions with other religions, what worldview they have, their internal fractions and institutions.
Course Content
What is religion? What beliefs do Paganism and Shamanism endorse? How did Christianity emerge and how does it look like today? How are the religious beliefs shaped in India, Persia, China, Japan, Ancient America and Ancient Egypt? What beliefs did pre-Islamic Turks endorse? What religious orientations do world societies feed after secularization and in the New Age? History of Religions II will seek answers to these questions.
Explanations
The final grade consists of a presentation work (%40) and a written paper (%60).
Rules
It is necessary to have read the relevant parts in the Reader before coming to lessons.
It is required to participate at a rate of 70% in order to be accepted to the final exam (written paper).
