Course Objective
The rhetoric course aims to develop students' linguistic expression skills, enabling them to grasp the depth of meaning in the Quran and Sunnah, interpret literary texts accurately, acquire critical thinking and linguistic analysis skills, and learn the application of literary arts.
In this context, students will learn the following topics:
The concepts of eloquence and rhetoric, and in the science of Meani: Musnad, Khabar, Insha, Amr, Nahy, Istifham, Tamanni, Qasr, Fasil and Wasl, Ijaz, Itnab, and Musawat.
In the science of Bayan: Tashbih, Majaz, Istiarah, and Kinayah.
In the science of Badi: Muhassinat al-Ma'nawiyyah and Lafziyyah, Tibaq, and Jinas.
The course will provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical applications of these fundamental concepts.
Course Content
The rhetoric course offers a comprehensive curriculum focused on the aesthetic and effective use of language, aiming to understand the depth of meaning and linguistic subtleties in both Islamic texts and general literary works. This course enhances students' linguistic expression skills while allowing them to explore the finer points of classical Arabic language and literature.
By thoroughly covering the three main fields of rhetoric: Meani, Bayan, and Badi, the course provides an opportunity to learn about meaning, expression, and beauty in language. It also equips students with a solid foundation to grasp the linguistic subtleties in the Quran and Hadith, accurately interpret literary texts, and recognize various literary arts.
Course Learning Outcomes
- After this lesson, the student understands the Qur'an better and reads the Quran by reading the Qur'an.
- After this course, the student learns Arabic Belagati and understands the literary arts and subtleties of the Qur'anic and other Arabic texts.
- After this course, the student understands the three different branches of the Arabic Language of Truth: Beyan, Me'ani and Bedi.
