Course Objective
The aim is to teach the phonetic, morphological, and vocabulary characteristics of Old Anatolian/Oghuz Turkish, which constitutes the western branch of the Middle Turkish period of the Turkish language, and the qualities of the works from this period.
Course Content
He/She understands the origins and historical development stages of Western Turkic. He/She comprehends the issue of mixed-language works. He/She has knowledge about Old Oghuz Turkic texts and their authors. He/She transliterates Old Oghuz Turkic texts. He/She performs analytical applications on texts.

- He/She knows the origins and historical development stages of Western Turkish.
- He/She knows the distribution maps of Western Turkic languages.
- It covers the origins of Old Oghuz, Classical-Modern Azerbaijani, and Ottoman Turkish.
- He/She knows the texts that exhibit the linguistic features of Old Oghuz Turkish and the authors of these works.
- He/She understands the linguistic features of Old Oghuz Turkish.
- It conducts word analyses on the vocabulary of Old Oghuz Turkish.
