Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce students to written and oral expression types and to provide them with the ability to analyze and produce; To make people understand the features of the Turkish language and its rules of operation and to show them with examples; to improve students' vocabulary through written and oral texts; To gain the habit of following spelling rules and using punctuation marks appropriately; to develop the habit of reading books; To gain scientific, critical, questioning, interpretive, creative and constructive thinking habits.

Course Content

By introducing the basic principles and types of written and oral expression, students' written and oral expression skills are developed. In order to gain the habit of reading and analyzing literary texts from a critical perspective, students are tried to develop their literary sensitivity by showing examples of the subject. Thus, practice is carried out through sample texts in order to gain scientific, critical, questioning, interpretive, creative and constructive thinking habits. The fundamentals of academic writing and the principles and methods of creating scientific reports are introduced. The habit of following spelling rules and using punctuation marks appropriately is gained.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. The students understand the rules of verbal and written expression, gain the ability to express their thoughts effectively.
  2. The students understand the formation of verbal expression and the factors that disrupt speech.
  3. The intensity of creating sentences and word order makes a difference. Recognizes and applies spelling and punctuation options.
  4. The students realize the subtleties of note-taking and summarizing and applies in daily life.
  5. The students know and describe knowledge of official and scientific research papers.
  6. The students know and describe the literary genres closely with their examples.
  7. The students gain the habit of reading and interpret the book, they attend from their own perspectives.
  8. They use written and verbal communication tools for the life - petition, minutes, letters, resumes, presentation methods, etc.
