Course Objective

This course aims to enable students to understand the psychological, biological, and social basis of behavioral disorders; to use scientific criteria in evaluating individuals' behaviors; and to select appropriate intervention approaches in social work practice.

Course Content

Definition and characteristics of behavior, criteria for abnormal behavior, DSM-5 classification, behavioral disorders in childhood and adolescence, personality disorders, impulse control disorders, aggression, addictions, psychosomatic behaviors, and behavioral intervention approaches in social work.
