Course Objective

To enable students to learn the structures and functions of biomolecules that make up the basic structure of the human body .

To teach students the human metabolism.

To help students apply the theoretical knowledge they have learned.

Course Content

This course includes comprehension of the structural and functional roles of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, enzymes, nucleic acids; teaching functions of hormones, vitamins, and minerals; ailments caused by their inadequateness and overabundance; anabolism, catabolism, digestion and absorption, liver and kidney function tests; test selection and sampling.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Gain some knowledge about biochemical concepts and molecular basics of creatures.
  2. Has knowledge about biochemical concepts and molecular bases of living things.
  3. Enzymes use structures, functions and diagnostic criteria in the diagnosis of diseases
  4. Comprehends functions and structures of enzymes and the fact that they are used as criteria for the diagnosis of diseases.
  5. Comprehends structures, functions, metabolisms of carbohydrates, proteins, and amino acids, and how metabolic integrity between these molecules is provided.
  6. Learn how carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and amino acids make up structures, functions, metabolisms and metabolic integrity between these molecules.
  7. Conducts evaluation of clinical biochemistry analyses.
  8. It evaluates clinical biochemical analyzes.
  9. Gains adequate information about emerging diseases based on the metabolic disturbances seen in pathways.
  10. It has sufficient knowledge about the diseases that develop due to the disorders seen in metabolic pathways.
