Course Objective

The aim of the course is to teach students basic quality analyzes along with basic production methods and principles in basic food groups.

Course Content

Work flow processes in various food processing technologies fields, designing process conditions, applying them according to the procedures, and making quality analyzes of products.

According to the regulations, if a student does not attend 20% of the total practice hours, he/she will be absent from the course (DZ) and will fail.

Class Attendance: According to the regulations, if a student does not attend 20% of the total practice hours, he/she will be absent from the course (DZ) and fail.
Arriving Late: You are expected to not only come to class but also attend class on time. Please note that arriving late to 3 classes will be counted as 1 complete absence. Arriving late to class is defined as follows: Taking the class attendance from the instructor and attending the class after the first 10 minutes of the class.
Make-up Exams: No make-up exams are given for short exams.
 Academic honesty: It is expected that the work that will be the subject of the course grade is entirely your own effort and work.  In immoral cases such as plagiarism or copying, a disciplinary investigation will be initiated and you will be subject to the necessary penal sanctions, in accordance with the relevant regulations of IZU.
Getting Help: It is important for your education that you ask your questions about the course during the course or during office hours and learn the subject on time. We recommend that our students get help when necessary.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Knows the production techniques of various foods
  2. Have the ability to take samples from food samples, collect data through experiments and analysis, interpret and evaluate the data obtained
  3. Acquires the ability to constantly renew itself by following current issues and trends in the food industry, national and international standards and regulations
  4. Knows the basic processing techniques used in food processing
