Course Objective

Studies aimed at determining the concept of folk literature, promoting the literary types before and after the Islamic Society, recognizing the arms of folk literature, analyzing texts and determining the appropriate one for middle school students.

Explanations

Midterm exam 30% Fieldwork Project Assignment 20% Final 50% Participation in the fieldwork project is mandatory. The rubric and criteria will be shared at the beginning of the semester.

Rules

Participation in the fieldwork study is compulsory. The samples obtained from the field research should be submitted in written form as a project assignment. Audio and video recordings from the compilation should also be submitted. 

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. S/he ascertains the source of Turkish folk literature and learns the works.
  2. S/he learns the concepts of Turkish folk literature and the description of Turkish folk literature.
  3. S/he knows and recognizes the sources of Turkish folk literature and the oral and written culture.
  4. S/he determines the traditional and cultural elements of Turkish folk literature in written and oral sources.
  5. S/he understands and interprets theTurkish folk literature works.
  6. S/he understands the subject of form and genres in Turkish folk poetry.
  7. S/he knows the relationship between the structure and characteristics of Turkish folk literature.
  8. S/he learns the most important works of Turkish folk literature and examines the examples.
  9. S/he knows the methods of gathering and fieldwork compiling information about Turkish folklore.
  10. S/he knows Turkish folk poetry and analyzes the forms of poetry.
