Course Objective

Knows, prepares and evaluates the characteristics of children with special needs, the adaptation stages of parents, and education programs.

Course Content

The characteristics of special talented children, their needs, the characteristics and needs of specially gifted children's parents,
contributing to the development of effective parenting skills of specially gifted children's families.

Total Score

 

• Classroom activities will be graded out of 60 points. The 60 points awarded for classroom activities will be determined by the number of times a student participates in an activity. If there are 3 activities, 3 activities will be worth 60 points, 2 activities will be worth 50 points, and 1 activity will be worth 40 points.
• Note 1: After the presentation, the abstract of the presented article and a photo taken during the presentation will be sent via Teams in a single Word file.

• Note 2: For students who do not have attendance requirements and do not participate in activities, their Class Participation Score will be calculated by averaging their midterm and final exam grades.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Evaluates the implications of the interventions that will increase family participation in special education.
  2. Comprehends the necessity of special education of families with special education needs
  3. Develops applications models that support family participation in special education.
  4. Understands that the needs of the family will be different according to the type and degree of requirement
