Course Objective
To gain knowledge and skills about gifted children and their general characteristics. To gain knowledge about the applications of gifted students in mathematics education. To gain knowledge about working with families.
Course Content
Definition and basic principles of giftedness; characteristics of gifted students; social relations and teaching situations of gifted students with other students, advantages and disadvantages of labeling; supporting the gifted students in the mathematics course, methods and techniques related to the education of gifted students; Applications and evaluation with gifted students.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Knows the basic principles of giftedness.
- Students will have an idea about the characteristics of their talented students.
- Gains an idea about mathematics education for gifted students.
- Have information about methods and techniques related to the education and training of gifted students.
