Course Objective
To ensure that teacher candidates carry out practices aimed at developing the language skills of students who do not have mental or physical disabilities but have not acquired reading, writing, speaking, listening and visual literacy skills appropriate to their level.
Course Content
This course focuses on the preparation and implementation of enriched language teaching activities in order to improve the language skills of students who have not gained reading, writing, speaking, listening and visual literacy skills appropriate to their level despite having no detectable mental and physical disabilities; techniques, methods and activities related to how to teach reading and writing to children whose mother tongue is different are emphasized; students from different socio-economic backgrounds who come to school with different levels of prior knowledge and therefore have problems in acquiring and using language skills, and students who cannot acquire language skills at an adequate level due to various reasons in the school and home environment (teacher change, inability to adapt, inadequate home conditions, domestic violence and incompatibility, etc.). The approaches, methods, techniques and applications used in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language/second language to children coming through immigration and the approaches, methods, techniques and applications used in the teaching process.
