Islamic Sciences (Arabic)

The Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Faculty of Islamic Sciences aims to train qualified, well-equipped and multilingual theologians by combining the Islamic scholarly tradition with contemporary academic methods. In this direction, while giving its students the classical body of scholarly knowledge, it aims to give them the ability to approach current religious and social issues from a critical and constructive perspective. Students who wish to study in Arabic at our Faculty must have passed the exams determined by ÖSYM within the framework of the university's academic and legal regulations. Students studying in an equivalent programme in Turkey or abroad may also transfer horizontally to our department. Before the semester begins, the admission of students is reviewed and evaluated individually, taking into account each student's circumstances and the degree applied for.

Students coming from abroad under student exchange programmes approved by the University and limited by an agreement can take courses taught in English in the department. If the student is proficient in Turkish, they may enrol in any Turkish course listed in the Course Plan.
