Software Engineering (English)
In general terms, software engineering is defined as the application of engineering principles to obtain, economically, software that meets requirements and works reliably and efficiently. As the software developed today is no longer small-scale projects, there has been a need to develop software under a discipline. Software engineering was created for this purpose as “a branch of science that aims to develop software in a high-quality, measurable and systematic way".
Students who graduate from the Department of Software Engineering will have a wide range of jobs in various departments of almost every institution and organization as system analysts, system engineers, design engineers, web design and programming specialists, information technology specialists and application programmers; they will be able to design software projects, put these projects into practice and successfully carry out testing and integration steps, and will be able to make important contributions to the trained workforce needed in our country in these areas.
The software engineering undergraduate programme is a 4-year programme with a total of 240 ECTS credits, consisting of eight semesters, each with a 30-ECTS workload. The language of instruction is at least 30% English. Knowing English well enough to follow the curriculum is compulsory. The programme has a compulsory 1-year English preparatory class.
