About the Programme

International Trade and Finance

The Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Department of International Trade and Finance aims to train specialists who have a global vision, draw strength from local riches, can think strategically, and are entrepreneurial, competitive and inclined to teamwork. Prepared with an interdisciplinary approach, the curriculum offers a solid foundation in fields such as business administration, economics, finance, international trade and marketing. Educated in a multicultural environment, students specialize in international trade and finance and become equipped to work as specialists or managers in national and international companies, financial institutions, development organizations and scientific research centres.

Mission

To educate graduates who understand global trade dynamics, international market opportunities and digital transformation, specialize in foreign trade, logistics, finance and e-commerce, and can make a difference in the private sector, the public sector and the entrepreneurial ecosystem; and to enable students to turn theoretical knowledge into practice through scientific research, industry collaborations and applied training.

Vision

To be an international department focused on expanding and developing the boundaries of the science of economics and finance in theory and practice, with the aim of contributing to the development of the participation finance sector, particularly in Turkey.

Education and Programme Opportunities

The department offers its students the opportunity to enrich their education through double major and minor programmes, and the chance to study abroad and gain a global perspective through international exchange programmes. Students are encouraged to do internships at reputable institutions to gain industry experience, with the aim of reinforcing their academic knowledge with practical skills.

Opportunities Offered to Students:

  • Opportunity to learn foreign languages (free of charge),
  • Opportunity to do a minor (with a scholarship for the normal period of study plus one additional year),
  • Opportunity to do a double major (with a scholarship for the normal period of study plus one additional year),
  • Opportunity to study abroad through international exchange programmes (1 or 2 semesters),
  • Opportunity to continue with master's programmes after graduation.

Our programme aims to be a pioneering educational institution in participation finance that is recognized at national and international level and makes theoretical and practical contributions. To this end, the aim is to educate individuals who have a multidisciplinary perspective, well-developed research and problem-solving skills, are committed to ethical principles and act with a sense of social responsibility. Our graduates can work in the public and private sectors, particularly in participation banks, insurance companies, savings-based financing institutions and portfolio management companies, where employment is steadily growing, and can also find opportunities in regulatory public institutions and national/international academic institutions.
