Core Duties
Preparing the draft Academic Calendar and implementing the Academic Calendar processes approved by the Senate,
Carrying out work on student quota proposals,
Registering students placed in undergraduate programmes by ÖSYM,
Registering students who are entitled to enrol in undergraduate programmes through horizontal transfer,
Requesting documents from and sending documents to the relevant higher education institutions for incoming and outgoing horizontal transfer students,
Registering international students in undergraduate programmes and following up other work and procedures related to foreign national students,
Monitoring processes such as students' registration renewal, course registration and course add/drop,
Carrying out students' exemption and adaptation procedures,
Determining students' academic achievement status and percentile achievement brackets,
Defining and monitoring students' scholarships/discounts,
Preparing and distributing student documents (transcripts, student certificates, disciplinary status certificates, etc.),
Preparing the graduation transcripts of students entitled to graduate and sending them to the relevant units,
Carrying out students' graduation procedures,
Preparing and distributing documents such as the Graduation Certificate, Diploma and Diploma Supplement for graduates,
Preparing and distributing achievement certificates such as Honours, High Honours, Minor and Foreign Language certificates,
Carrying out procedures such as students' withdrawal, dismissal and leave of absence/registration freeze,
Carrying out work and procedures to improve the Campus Information System,
Carrying out work and procedures related to the Quality Management System
Sending information and documents on education and students to YÖK, ÖSYM, KYK and other institutions and organizations,
Preparing statistical data and reports, monitoring student achievement status, loans, scholarships, etc., and corresponding with the relevant institutions,
Conducting the necessary official correspondence within and outside the University,
Carrying out other similar duties assigned by the university administration.
The staff of the unit, who play an important role in ensuring that the unit's services are carried out accurately and effectively within the framework of the applicable legislation, are expected to have complete and adequate administrative and legal knowledge in their area of duty; to exercise the utmost care and diligence in performing their duties; to work harmoniously with colleagues and to be respectful, courteous and friendly in interpersonal relations; to provide the necessary explanations to authorities and interested parties in a clear manner; to ensure that all procedures are fully recorded and to take the measures required for their preservation; to maintain confidentiality and to possess a sense of belonging and responsibility; to be careful, diligent and honest in their work and open to continuous development and innovation; to train their subordinates; to adopt and uphold the institutional culture; and to comply with moral and ethical rules, the institution's quality principles, the work programme and strategic plans.
