Turkish Language Festival Enthusiasm at IZU
The "1st Turkish Language Festival", organized by IZU TÖMER and Turkish Preparatory Program students, was held at the Abdullah Tivnikli Conference Hall. The event brought together students learning Turkish as a foreign language and their families on our university campus.
The festival began with the Turkish National Anthem and a moment of silence. Opening speeches were delivered by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Küçük and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Osman Özdemir. They addressed the importance of Turkish language education at IZU, foreign students' sensitivity toward the language, the educational process, and the significance of the festival.
As part of the festival, awards were presented to the winners of the essay competition on the topic: "What kind of life would you have lived if you were born as the child of a turkish family in Turkey?" Students also performed poems and songs, and a four-act play was staged. Within the scope of the Turkish Preparatory Program's "Advisory Student Project", certificates of participation were given to faculty students who mentored international students.
