Frequently Asked Questions

Points to Consider When Applying

1- Please contact the Erasmus Institutional Coordinatorship regarding any problems that may arise during the application process. (You may send an e-mail to erasmus@izu.edu.tr or visit the Erasmus Office. Library, KT-143)

2- Applications will be made online. The "Documents Required for Application" and "How to Apply" pages must be read carefully. For traineeship mobility, a letter of acceptance and correspondence confirming that the trainee will be accepted by the organisation are required. Once the required documents have been uploaded to the application system, a valid application will be shown as "Approved by the Office" in the system. It is recommended that the traineeship mobility start date falls between 31 May and 1 September 2021. Since a letter of acceptance or acceptance correspondence is required at the application stage, no change of traineeship placement or country will be permitted once the selection process is complete. Students should therefore research the pandemic and visa situation in the countries where they intend to carry out their traineeship before deciding on their placement.

3- The Erasmus+ English Language Proficiency Exam will be held online. Before the exam date, candidates registered for the exam must have logged in to and out of the IZU English Preparatory School LMS (izu.edu.tr) system using their university accounts with the @std.izu.edu.tr extension. For students who will sit the Erasmus English Language Proficiency Exam, the application deadline is 28 April 2021 at 15:00.

4- If you do not wish to sit the Erasmus+ English Language Proficiency Exam organised by the Foreign Languages Coordinatorship, the option "I do not wish to take the University Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam" must be selected in the application.

Students who do not wish to take the Language Exam;

  • If a Language Exam Result Document is available (the result documents of the TOEFL-IBT, TOEFL-CBT, TOEFL-PBT, YDS, YÖKDİL and IELTS exams whose equivalence is accepted by the University must be uploaded to the system. (YDS and YÖKDİL documents will be assessed subject to a 5-year validity requirement. The validity period of the other exam proficiency documents is 2 years.) The relevant language documents must be uploaded so that their verification codes are visible. Candidates without a language exam document must select the option "I wish to take the Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam."
  • Students who wish to apply with their IZU Preparatory School completion grade must correctly enter their "B2" level preparatory school completion grade in the system and upload a recently dated electronically signed transcript showing the preparatory school completion grade at "B2" level. A "C1" preparatory school completion grade cannot be accepted.

For the table converting YDS, YÖKDİL, TOEFL-IBT-CBT-PBT and IELTS scores into IZU Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam scores, click here.

5- A recently dated, electronically signed transcript must be requested from the Student Affairs Office and uploaded to the application system as a PDF.

6- The withdrawal period for students selected as principal candidates is 18 May 2021 - 31 May 2021. Students who do not exercise their right to withdraw within these dates and withdraw at a later date will have 10 points deducted in the next application period. Students wishing to withdraw must come to the Erasmus Institutional Coordinatorship between 18 May 2021 and 31 May 2021 and withdraw by submitting a petition.
