"For children, experiencing their parents' separation is very different from what adults experience, because children lose what is essential to their development: the level of family structure." (WALLERSTEIN / BLAKESLEE, 1989, p. 35)
When spouses divorce, there is usually one side that wins. Children, however, are always the losing side in their parents' divorce, because they are forced into this separation. For children there is no good or bad side. They love both parents and want to be with and live together with both. The aim is to train specialists who can support couples and parents who are considering or have decided on divorce, and help them get through the road to divorce in a healthy way.
